Avonni Award (Chile-2007)
CAM was a finalist for the Avonni Awards for 2007, in the category “Companies”, for its project titled “Innovating on Innovation”. This excellent result came about after a drawn-out selection process involving several firms. CAM presented its Innovation advances in incorporating new technologies into metering services (concentrator meter for buildings, and as an anti-theft device), which reflects the efforts of our Company to permanently improve the services provided to our clients.
The Avonni Awards were announced in October 2007 by the Pro Innovation Forum, jointly with the CPC Confederation de la Producción y el Comercio (the Chilean Industry and Commerce Confederation), and the Chilean Ministry for the Economy. The purpose of these awards is to honor persons, companies, public institutions and non-profit organizations which contribute to innovation in their field of activity.
M2M, Machine to Machine (Chile-United States, 2007)
The ultimate acknowledgement in the Automated Meter Reading category of the Value Chain Awards, which were announced at the 2007 M2M United Conference, was awarded to the Tele-measuring (remote reading) solution developed and implemented in Chile by CAM and Synapsis, for our client Chilectra.
This yearly awards competition is organized by the North America’s M2M Magazine; it acknowledges the most innovative and outstanding machine-to-machine technological solutions of the previous year. The purpose of the Value Chain Awards is to acknowledge the most successful solution in M2M technology as well as the value chain involved in developing and implementing these technologies.
The adoption of the remote meter-reading technology was due in large part to CAM’s extensive experience in Chile in the area of metering technologies, as evidenced in over 10 years of implementing Automated Meter Reading solutions, as part of a value chain that was created along with this project, and which finally permitted the incorporation of innovative technologies for optimizing this complex business process within power distribution companies.
““Award of Excellence”, International Illumination Design Awards, IIDA (Peru - United States, 2007).
The Outdoor Illumination Project for AFP Profuturo’s new company headquarters in Peru was singled out by the International Illumination Design Awards (IIDA) in the category "Award of Excellence", a category in which only five projects are given awards worldwide, this being the only South American project to be given an award this year.
This is one of the illumination projects undertaken by CAM in Peru, within the areas of ornamental illumination, urban illumination, industrial illumination, and illumination with advanced technologies, for clients such as Endesa, Edelnor, the Municipality of Lima, Edegel, Pacific, Reniec, and Profuturo, among others.
This project, which was developed in response to the need to project a new, modern, creative, and dynamic corporate image, was the first project implemented in Peru with an innovative system that incorporates LED technology. The use of an RGB system and LEDS-equipped light sources creates movement and changes in the colors of light, making the design flexible, and allowing the client to control the night-time illumination of their building simply by changing the pre-programmed scenes.
IIDA is a program of IESNA (The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America), a specialized technical body on illumination, which for over 100 years has been promoting good practices for the illumination industry, by means of programs, publications, and services
