 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Projects

Corporate Social Responsibility

In October 2006, and in line with policies adopted by Endesa and its international affiliates, Cam signed the Global Compact, a set of United Nations ethics guidelines launched in 1999, which invites all organizations and other entities to adopt these principles as part of their strategy and operations.

The aim of the Pact is to foster the creation of a global corporate citizenship that would reconcile the interests and processes of business activity with the values and demands of civil society, UN projects, international sectoral organizations, labor unions, and NGO’s.  The ten principles included in the Pact can be summarized as commitment to, and promotion of, best practices in four areas: human rights, labor regulations, environment, and the fight against corruption.

Cam is also actively developing policies of Social Responsibility in all its areas of operation, starting with human resources, environmental responsibility, and good community relations.

Additionally, as a way of strengthening its business philosophy, Cam is firmly committed to developing and implementing its ethics code, and to promoting ethical behavior on the part of its employees and the Corporation itself. The company has established an Ethics Line, by means of which, employees, suppliers, authorities, and clients in general can make anonymous reports or accusations concerning any potential irregularities.
